Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has launched its all-new Dio scooter. The Dio now gets an upgraded 110cc engine and Honda’s global moto-styling.

The new Dio is powered by the identical 110cc engine that powers the Honda Activa and Aviator scooters. It develops 8bhp at 7,500rpm (1bhp more than the outgoing model) and 0.88kgm of torque at 5,500rpm. The motor is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technologies that help the Dio achieve a mileage of 55kpl, up by 15 percent than the earlier Dio.

In addition, the Dio also gets Honda’s Combi-brake feature that ensures improved braking efficiency and riding stability. It also becomes the first Indian scooter to sport tubeless tyres. Other introductions are increased leg space and a wider seat for a comfortable ride experience. Honda has tweaked Dio’s overall styling as well; it gets new frontal design that, according to Honda, “expresses dynamic and youthful moto-scooter look”, a new 3D emblem and an elegant tail-lamp.

The new Dio is priced at Rs 42,362 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in five colours – sports red, matt axis grey, pearl sunbeam white, candy palm green and leblon violet.
