Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) recently announced that it recorded its highest ever export numbers during July 2017. The Japanese manufacturer’s total sales grew at 20 percent to 5,44,508 units during the month as compared to 4,53,884 units in July 2016.

Honda gained a 2 percent market share (expanding to 28.8 percent of the total market) during the month, helped by domestic sales of 5,11,939 units (up from 4,29,551 units in July 2016) and export related sales of 32,569 units (up by 34 percent). Honda’s market share in exports rose to an all-time high of 15 percent by the end of July.

The brand recently launched India’s first dual-clutch automatic motorcycle, the Africa Twin DCT, and has also inaugurated new zonal offices in Coimbatore and Ranchi.

Commenting on the performance, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Honda’s commitment to the market and its customers have helped us achieve double-digit growth. With aggressive network expansion and the introduction of new products, we have not only created a lot of excitement among our consumers but also succeeded in reaching closer to the customers. The increasing popularity of Honda vehicles in other countries, especially Latin America, has added to our sales."
