Honda first showcased the PCX scooter at the 2016 Auto Expo and now, at the 2018 Auto Expo, the company has displayed an electric version of it.

The electric scooter is meant for urban environs and is 1,923mm long, 745mm wide and 1,107mm tall. It is powered by a 0.98kW electric motor and gets a detachable lithium-ion mobile battery pack called the Honda Mobile Power Pack, which has been developed independently.

The Japanese two-wheeler brand has also developed the PCX Hybrid which possesses an independently developed hybrid system that uses a high-output battery and ACG starter to assist the internal combustion engine.

The PCX Electric is more of a technology showcase in India, but is expected to go on sale in a few Asian markets, including Japan, in 2018.
