Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced today that the Navi has crossed the 1 lakh-unit sales figure. A blend between a scooter and a motorcycle, the funky Navi was launched at the 2016 Auto Expo. It also holds the distinction of being the first indigenously developed two-wheeler by Honda India’s R&D department.

The Navi was a bold and quirky product from Honda, which is traditionally considered a conservative brand. Given the initial hype surrounding the product, the Navi sold well and also made it to the list of the top-10 selling scooters in our country. However, it wasn’t able to sustain the sales momentum for long. Honda took notice of this and launched the updated 2018 Navi in July.

Speaking on the sales achievement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president, sales and marketing, HMSI, said, “The trendy Navi is a style statement and trendsetter for the youth. The unconventional design, looks and endless possibilities of customisation has helped us to engage young two-wheeler enthusiasts not only in India, but around the world. They all are enjoying the Navi’s fun ride and also exploring its unique customisation options.”

Honda currently exports the Navi to 10 countries and had also announced that it would be exporting it to the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica within this year. The 2018 Honda Navi is priced at Rs 44,775 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in two new colours – Ranger Green and Ladakh Brown.
