Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced the achievement of a new milestone – clocking sales of over 1.1 million BS6 two-wheelers in the country. The number indicates the cumulative sales of Honda BS6 two-wheelers in the domestic market, ever since the company launched its first BS6 model, the Activa 125, in September 2019. So far, Honda has launched as many as 11 BS6 two-wheeler models in the country, starting from the humble 110cc Activa to the 1,084cc Africa Twin Adventure Sports. Some of the recent Honda BS6 launches include the Grazia 125, Livo and the X-Blade.

The company adds that a major chunk of the sales has been garnered by the Activa 6G and the Shine 125. That the Activa 6G is at the top of the list is no surprise, as it continues to reign supreme in the scooter market. The BS6 model is a major step-up from the previous Activas, with the most notable additions being the telescopic front suspension, 12-inch front wheel and an external fuel filler cap.

In the process of upgrading its engines to comply with BS6 norms, Honda has also used the opportunity to add more features to its two-wheelers, notably the ACG silent-start system and Engine Start Stop switch, among others.

Speaking about this momentous occasion,  Yadvinder Singh Guleria, director of sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India,  said, “It’s a matter of great pride for us at Honda, that our 11 advanced BS6 models have won the vote of confidence and created a new joy of riding amongst customers across India. As many customers are now preferring personal mobility for safety and hygiene in the challenging times of new normal, Honda is unlocking new value with its many initiatives like online bookings, attractive retail finance schemes, industry first up to six years warranty option.”
