World two-wheeler market leader Hero MotoCorp is expanding its global footprint, planning exports of its scooters and bikes to the large two-wheeler markets of Africa and Latin America by the end of this fiscal year. Hero plans to set up their assembly plants in Kenya and Nigeria to address the demand from African market, while their entry into Latin America will happen first through Columbia, where they also want to start an assembly plant.

Since parting with Honda, Hero has been exporting to Nepal and Sri Lankan markets under the Hero MotoCorp brand name. The company plans to grow in these markets in days to come, expanding production as demand grows once their bikes and scooters have been introduced.
