Hero comes to Rajasthan

Hero MotoCorp has begun construction of its fourth motorcycle and scooter production plant in India, located at Neemrana, Rajasthan. The new plant is spread over 47 acres, and will employ over 1000 people with an annual capacity of 750,000 units when operational.

Hero will also set up a high tech global parts centre with automated storage, retrieval, packaging, sorting and online warehouse management systems, this facility employing 400 people and spanning over 35 acres. Total investments by Hero MotoCorp towards its new ventures is Rs 550 crores, the new facilities set to go operational by 2014.

The foundation stone for these two new set ups was laid by the MD and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Mr Pawan Munjal earlier today, at a function attended by government officials and senior company executives.
