Jawa had launched its BS6 Jawa and Forty Two back in March 2020, and prices for the bike increased by Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,928, depending on single- or dual-channel ABS and colour scheme. Due to the lockdown, production and distribution for these bikes was temporarily halted, but they have now started making their way to dealerships. Jawa has also updated its website to reflect the specifications of the BS6-compliant models.

The Jawa and Forty Two continue to use the same 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, but in BS6 spec it puts out slightly lower figures. This engine now makes 26.5hp and 27Nm of torque as compared to the BS4 model’s 27hp and 28Nm. The updated Jawa and Forty now weigh slightly more, at 172kg, compared to the 170kg kerb weight of the 2019 Jawas.

When it comes to visual differences, the twin exhausts aren’t single-piece units like before. Jawa tells us that the catalytic convertor is not bigger, but the exhaust header has a larger diameter. This header pipe will also have a chrome cover on it when delivery for the BS6 models start. There appear to be no other visible changes.
