BMW F 450 GS: Launch details
The F 450 GS has a kerb weight of 178kg
The BMW F 450 GS has been highly anticipated in India, especially since the discontinuation of the BMW G 310 GS, which served as the entry point into BMW’s GS family—well recognised among tourers and off-road riders.
First showcased as a concept at EICMA 2024, the F 450 GS was later spotted testing multiple times before being unveiled in production form at EICMA 2025. Production of the motorcycle commenced at TVS’s Hosur facility in late November, and the bike is now set for its India launch on April 23.

Powering the F 450 GS is a 420cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48hp and 43Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It also features BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro (quickshifter) for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. Internationally, the model is offered in four variants – Basic, Exclusive, Sport and Trophy – all of which could make their way to India. The F 450 GS, has a kerb weight of 178kg, gets quad-LED DRLs (daytime running lamps) inspired by the R 1300 GS flagship tourer.

The bike is also equipped with BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which claims to improve operating comfort and riding dynamics. This system is standard on the Trophy variant and can be retrofitted to other trims.
The F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility, further strengthening its partnership with BMW Motorrad for small-capacity and mid-capacity motorcycles. We expect pricing could be around the Rs 5 lakh mark, however it remains to be seen the exact pricing the F 450 GS is launched at.
