The Concept RR previews the next generation of BMW’s high-performance RR series

Positioned as a technical and design showcase, the Concept RR draws heavily from the brand’s factory racing program and previews BMW’s design and engineering direction.

The Concept RR is built upon the foundation of the BMW M 1000 RR, the very machine that powered the brand’s recent FIM World Superbike Championship victory. It is powered by an inline-four, water-cooled engine derived from the WSBK race bike, and produces over 230hp. This motor is paired with electronic systems, including race-spec traction control, engine braking control, and engine mapping, directly adapted from BMW’s factory motorsport experience.

A key focus of the Concept RR is its lightweight construction. The frame and bodywork make extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium. The brand claims that each component has been designed with performance in mind, from the minimalistic subframe to the precisely milled aluminium tail that features an embossed and illuminated RR logo on the underside.

Aerodynamic efficiency has also played a central role in the Concept RR’s development. BMW engineers state that they have achieved a streamlined form with reduced external attachments and functional airflow channels running from front to rear. The fairing integrates winglets designed to improve high-speed stability and downforce in corners, while the rear end is aerodynamically optimised for minimal drag and maximum top speed.

The BMW Motorrad Concept RR is a declaration of the brand’s future design and engineering direction.
