The BluArmor C20 is a mesh intercom that mirrors the C50 in form factor and the way it is mounted to your helmet. To offer it at a more affordable price point, BluArmor has stripped away some features, although the core essentials remain. It comes with an IP67 waterproof rating, over 16 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 5.3, over-the-air firmware updates, and a 1.10km straight-line range, which drops quite significantly to 200-300m in dense traffic.
Interestingly, despite its lower price, the C20 includes features like a 2-level noise filter, crash detection, and interoperability with other brands, although only via Bluetooth.
It does, however, miss out on a few higher-end features from the C50. For example, it supports only 1-to-1 music sharing, unlike the group music sharing feature available on the C50. It also offers only a two-port connection, compared to the C50’s three-port setup, limiting the number of simultaneous device connections. Arguably, these are the sort of frilly features one can make do without, especially considering that the C20 is 40 percent more affordable than the C50.
The C20 features eRIDEGRID+, which is a hybrid system built on mesh networking that can seamlessly use Bluetooth when needed to keep communication stable; this is limited to group intercom use only. This means it lacks some of the advanced benefits of eRIDEGRID+ seen on the C50 Pro such as mesh-based music sharing.
The device is compatible with C50 accessories, including the magnetic dock that enables RideAura, BluArmor’s LED visibility system that doubles as a secondary brake light, thanks to its rear-mounted position. It also supports the T-stick joystick, which can be mounted to the handlebar.
In terms of design, the C20 is nearly identical to the C50, but features a carbon-fibre-styled centre panel with C20 lettering and gunmetal grey wings.
Priced at Rs 10,000, the C20 is BluArmor’s most affordable intercom yet. However, if booked before June 22, it will be available at an introductory price of Rs 7,000, with deliveries starting June 18.
