Benelli TRK 251 teased before India launch

Benelli has released teasers on its social media pages suggesting that its entry-level adventure bike, the TRK 251, will go on sale in India on December 6.

    • Direct rival to the KTM 250 Adventure

    • Single-cylinder, 249cc engine

    • Styling similar to larger TRK models

Unveiled at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show – the motorcycle's styling is similar to the TRK 502, albeit more compact. It features a side-slung muffler, unlike the underbelly unit seen on the 502. Powering the bike is the same quarter-litre motor seen on the Leoncino 250. The international-spec TRK makes 25.8hp and 21.2Nm of torque.

Suspension hardware consists of a USD fork and a monoshock. The international-spec TRK 251 has a dry weight figure of 164kg, 18-litre fuel tank capacity, 800mm seat height, and 170mm of ground clearance.

Braking is handled by a 280mm single disc brake up front and a 240mm unit at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard internationally. The TRK 251 runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with road-focused tyres.

In terms of competition, the Benelli offering is a direct rival to the KTM 250 Adventure (Rs 2.30 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi).
