Bajaj Auto has announced it will pass on the complete benefit of the recent GST reduction to customers across its eligible motorcycle and three-wheeler range, effective September 22. This follows the government’s decision to lower GST from 28 percent to 18 percent for motorcycles under 350cc. However, bikes above 350cc will now attract a higher tax rate of 40 percent under the revised regime.

  1. Price cuts of up to Rs 20,000 on models under 350cc
  2. Models like Dominar 400 and KTM 390 range to get more expensive

Bajaj GST benefit details

Savings of up to Rs 20,000 on two-wheelers

Bajaj has confirmed that the price cuts will apply to all motorcycles with an engine capacity under 350cc. This includes multiple Pulsar models, as well as the entire Platina, CT, Avenger line-up, and the Dominar 250.

For KTM, the benefit will extend to models like the 160 Duke, 200 Duke, 250 Duke, RC 200 and 250 Adventure. While the exact revised prices are yet to be revealed, the company has stated that customers can expect savings of up to Rs 20,000, with higher discounts likely on more expensive models.

On the other hand, motorcycles above 350cc will see a reversal in fortunes. Bajaj models such as the Dominar 400 and Pulsar NS400Z, along with KTM’s 390 range (390 Duke, 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure X, 390 Enduro, RC 390) and larger-capacity bikes, will now fall under the higher 40 percent tax slab. This marks an increase from the earlier effective rate of 31 percent (28 percent GST + 3 percent cess), which means prices for these premium models are likely to go up.

Bajaj is not the first manufacturer to announce the updated GST benefits in favour of customers. Classic Legends recently announced similar price cuts across Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, while BSA models are expected to see higher prices under the revised structure.
