Aprilia has launched the disc brake-equipped Storm 125 at Rs 91,321. This higher-spec model was expected to go on sale in March 2020, but it appears that it was delayed due to the pandemic. The higher-spec variant costs around Rs 5,500 more than the standard Storm 125 that’s priced at Rs 85,802.

The disc brake-equipped version should have been an option offered from the beginning. This welcome addition on the performance-oriented Storm 125 will finally give it the stopping power it needed. However, the scooter will still miss out on ABS and will only make do with a Combined Braking System (CBS); the rear continues with a drum brake. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as the brand would still want to keep costs in check. This variant also features a digi-analogue instrument cluster, instead of the fully analogue unit seen on the standard model.

Despite the Rs 22,000 price hike over the BS4 mode, the standard Storm 125 continues to be the most affordable Aprilia offering in India. The new disc-brake equipped version, however, costs around Rs 1,000 more than the standard SR 125, which comes with bigger 14-inch wheels.
