Hero MotoCorp has launched the Achiever 150, its new premium commuter motorcycle, at Rs 61,800 (Rs 62,800 for the disc-brake variant), ex-showroom, Delhi.

It’s powered by a BS-IV compliant, 149.1cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motor produces 13.4hp at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 12.8Nm at 5,000rpm, and allows the bike to reach from 0-60kph in a claimed five seconds.

Additionally, the bike features Hero MotoCorp’s patented fuel-saving, i3S engine start-stop technology, that was seen previously on the Splendor iSmart 100 and the more recent Splendor iSmart 110. It’s also the first bike in its class to get the Automatic Headlamp On safety feature, which keeps the bike’s headlamp on at all times.

It measures 2,060mm long, 763mm wide, 1,080mm high and 1,290mm in wheelbase, while ground-clearance stands at 160mm. It has a kerb weight of 139kg and comes with a 12-litre fuel-tank.

It comes in three paint-schemes – Panther Black Metallic, Candy Blazing Red and Ebony Grey Metallic. To commemorate the production of 70 million two-wheelers, which is also close to India’s 70th year of Independence, Hero is offering the Achiever 150 in a limited-run of three colours, only 70 of which will be made.

The new Achiever 150 rivals Bajaj’s Discover 150, the V15 and the Honda Unicorn.
