- Both models get a 4.2-inch TFT
KTM 690 SMC R, Enduro R: Changes to the engine
While power has increased, torque remains unchanged
Around half of the LC4 single’s internal components are new, including the crankcase, clutch and stator covers, oil-delivery system and fuel pump, and there’s revised valve timing. This has helped it produce a claimed 79hp and 73Nm while meeting the latest norms.

Additionally, rubber engine mounts have been introduced to reduce vibrations, the secondary air system has been removed for a simpler intake layout, and the exhaust has been reworked with a more compact muffler. Throttle response has been sharpened thanks to a new 65-degree twist grip, and KTM has extended maintenance intervals, with oil changes now due every 15,000km and valve clearance checks at 60,000km, up from 10,000km and 30,000km, respectively.
KTM 690 SMC R, Enduro R: Updated tech and rider aids
Now get the same TFT as seen on the 390 Enduro R
A major upgrade for 2026 is that the old LCD dash has been replaced by a 4.2-inch colour TFT display with KTMconnect smartphone pairing, USB-C charging, music and call controls, and turn-by-turn navigation, paired with new backlit switchgear and a dedicated ABS-off button.

Rider aids now include lean-sensitive cornering ABS and cornering MTC as standard, with the Enduro R adding a Rally mode, offering adjustable traction and motor-slip regulation. The SMC R gets a Track mode with launch control, 5-stage anti-wheelie, slip adjuster and Supermoto-specific ABS settings.
KTM 690 SMC R, Enduro R: Design and chassis tweaks
Both motorcycles now get a new LED headlight, tail-light and indicators
KTM has made changes to the chassis, and it claims that the steel trellis frame retains its basic geometry but is now stiffer for improved feel, while suspension tuning has been revised for better compliance.

The Enduro R gets revised bodywork, LED lighting, new in-mould graphics that are more durable and a relocated centre-stand mount. Both continue to use WP suspension and a steel trellis frame, tuned for the specific demands of off-road and supermoto riding, respectively.
