2025 Spirit of Independence Ride sees over 1,200 participants
Since its inaugural edition in 2019, the Spirit of Independence Ride has grown to become an annual pilgrimage for riders looking to celebrate Independence Day in the company of fellow bike enthusiasts. This year’s edition saw riders roll in on superbikes, cruisers, tourers and even commuters.
Early morning flag-offs were held at multiple locations across Mumbai and Pune, and all the participants then converged at Lonavala. Toshihiro Kaneko, the Chief Deputy Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, attended the event as one of its guests of honour. He was joined by Lt. Col. Sohan Roy, a veteran of the Kumaon Regiment and stalwart of India’s motorcycling community. Roy also led a flag-hoisting ceremony before the ride was flagged off.
The event received strong backing from the industry as well, with support from Gulf Oil, Suzuki, Kawasaki India and Reise Moto. In addition to the ride itself, the event also hosted multiple brand displays and giveaway contests.
