2025 Kawasaki Z900 launched at Rs 9.52 lakh

Kawasaki has launched the latest version of the Z900 naked at Rs 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom, India). For 2025, the popular Japanese middleweight naked gets overhauled with new styling, revised electronics and Euro5+ compliance.

  1. Kawasaki Z900 gets upgrades to electronics and cycle parts
  2. Engine and main frame carried over from before
  3. Now Rs 14,000 dearer, available in 2 colours

2025 Kawasaki Z900 gets a new 5-inch TFT dash

Popular Japanese middleweight overhauled comprehensively

The bones of the Z900 remain unchanged, with the engine and frame carried over from before. This means you get the same creamy-smooth 948cc four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering marginally lower peak output due to stricter emission norms. Peak output now stands at 124hp and 97.4Nm of torque, which is a smidge lower than before.

What has changed are the styling and the electronics arsenal. The Z900 now has all-new styling, with the headlight resembling that of the smaller Z500. Kawasaki claims that the way the frame rails are shaped keeps the rider’s reach to the ground the same despite the added cushioning offered by the seat. This is something we will surely test when we review the bike in the coming months.

Other changes include a new Bluetooth-compatible 5-inch TFT display with revised switchgear borrowed from the Ninja 1100SX. The electronic riding aids have also grown with the addition of a ride-by-wire throttle on the Z900, and the popular middleweight naked now gets cruise control and a new bidirectional quickshifter. Additionally, a 5-axis IMU complements all the bike’s riding aids, such as power modes, riding modes, traction control and dual-channel ABS.

Some chassis components that have also been upgraded include the brakes and tyres. You now get radially mounted 4-piston Nissin calipers mated to 300mm dual discs at the front, as opposed to the older bike that shipped with axial calipers. The tyres have changed from the rather average Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 on the outgoing model to the new Dunlop Sportmax Q5A, which should offer a big improvement in performance, but tyre sizes have stayed the same.

Kawasaki Z900 price

At Rs 9.52 lakh, the Kawasaki Z900 competes with the Honda CB650R (Rs 9.20 lakh-Rs 9.60 lakh), Triumph Street Triple R (Rs 10.17 lakh-Rs 10.43 lakh) and the Ducati Monster (Rs 12.95 lakh). It is available in two colours: black/green and black/red.

All prices ex-showroom, India
