Indian Motorcycle is gearing up to launch its Roadmaster Elite on May 2, 2018. With an expected price of over Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the Elite will be the company’s – as well as one of India’s – most expensive motorcycles. The Elite will be available in only one two-tone colour option and will feature a tank insignia painted in gold leaf.

The big cruiser will feature all-LED lights like the regular Roadmaster and also get a significant amount of chrome detailing on the front and rear fenders. The biggest differentiating factor, however, is the two-tone blue-and-black paint job which the bike maker claims takes 30 hours to complete. This extravagant motorcycle will also feature 23-karat gold leaf badges on the fuel tank. Other features include a 300W audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Since this motorcycle is part of the Indian’s Touring range, it is equipped with features like an adjustable windscreen and floorboards, heated seats, cruise control, a waterproof saddlebag and a waterproof trunk which can store more than 140 litres of luggage.

Mechanically, the Roadmaster Elite is powered by a 1,811cc, ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine – same as the Roadmaster – with 161.6Nm of peak torque developed at 3,000rpm. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and a monoshock, while braking duties are taken care of by dual-300mm discs up front and a single 300mm disc at the rear. The bike, being loaded with all imaginable features, has a kerb weight of 433kg.

The Roadmaster Elite will go up against the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited, which is priced at Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
