The Honda CBR500R Four has emerged from the Wuyang-Honda Chinese joint venture, it was first shown back in September 2025 in the Chinese market. At the heart of the small-capacity sport-bike is a new 502cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine, which makes 72hp at 11,000rpm and 47.4Nm of torque at 9,750rpm.

Underneath the aerodynamic bodywork is a simple steel frame and an aluminum swingarm, on which the whole package is built around. The suspension duties are handled by a 41mm USD fork and a Pro-link monoshock, from KYB (non-adjustable front, preload-adjustable rear). Nissin 2-piston radially-mounted caliper mated to dual 296mm front discs and a 240mm disc paired to a single-piston caliper at the rear brings the 189kg CBR500R Four to a halt. Dual-channel ABS is standard. Honda offers Pirelli Rosso 4 tyres as standard, sized 120/70-ZR17 and 160/60-ZR17 (F/R).

The electronic package is also well rounded with 5 riding modes (Sport, Road, Urban and two customizable modes), a bi-directional quickshifter, traction control and wheelie control. All of which can be controlled through a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This motorcycle is offered in a single variant equipped with Honda’s E-Clutch technology. Priced at GBP 6,999 (equivalent to Rs 8.86 lakh) the CBR500R Four is available in two colour options, a stealthy matt black finish and a bold red with HRC livery.

GBP-to-INR conversions are based on exchange rates at the time of writing.

Poll of the month

There will be 12 new Citroen and Jeep launches by 2030. Will this boost interest in these brands?

Yes, fresh models is just what's needed.
Only if sales and service expands alongside.
Won't be enough. Established brands are too strong.
