Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will bring back the V-Class to India. The carmaker is making a comeback to the luxury MPV segment after discontinuing the model previously in 2022. Prices of the V-Class will be announced on March 3, 2026, and here's what you can expect.

What engine and gearbox options will the Mercedes-Benz V-Class have?

Gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Globally, the V-Class comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune: 220d and 300d. In 220d guise, the V-Class produces 163hp and 380Nm and is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The 300d gets more power at 237hp and 500Nm. Both AWD and RWD setups are also available with this engine. The MPV is also sold in an all-electric EQV variant. While the all-electric version is unlikely for India, it remains to be seen which spec of the diesel version makes it to India.

What will the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class look like?

The V-Class has an overall boxy, van-like silhouette. The front end features LED headlamps and DRLs, along with a large grille with black surrounds that's studded with multiple three-pointed star emblems. Depending on the trim chosen, the lower part of the front and rear bumpers gets unique designs.

The side profile features a large glasshouse and strong shoulder line, along with smooth and clean surfaces, while the alloy wheel designs vary according to the chosen trim. At the rear, the V-Class features a large windscreen and vertical LED tail-lamps.

What will the interior of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class look like?

Cabin features dual 12.3-inch screens.

On the inside, the V-Class gets a twin-screen setup and a steering wheel with a three-spoke design. However, it still has the older-gen Mercedes interior design, which means the entire dashboard is not a screen and the centre console includes several physical buttons. The equipment list will include 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and driver's display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, powered sliding doors, and keyless entry.

Which seating configurations is the V-Class expected to offer?

The India-spec V-Class will likely be offered with 6- or 7-seater options in either standard or long-wheelbase form. The global-spec V-Class is also available in a Marco Polo version, which provides seating for four occupants along with facilities like an electric pop-up roof with a bed, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a rear bench that converts into a bed, though its arrival in India remains unconfirmed.
