The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is expected to be priced from approximately Rs 1 crore onwards, ex-showroom. It will compete against rivals such as the Toyota Vellfire, Lexus LM, and the MG M9.

What engine and gearbox options will the Mercedes-Benz V-Class have?

Gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Globally, the V-Class comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune: 220d and 300d. In 220d guise, the V-Class produces 163hp and 380Nm and is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The 300d gets more power at 237hp and 500Nm. Both AWD and RWD setups are also available with this engine. The MPV is also sold in an all-electric EQV variant. While the all-electric version is unlikely for India, it remains to be seen which spec of the diesel version makes it to India.

On the inside, the V-Class gets a twin-screen setup and a steering wheel with a three-spoke design. However, it still has the older-gen Mercedes interior design, which means the entire dashboard is not a screen and the centre console includes several physical buttons. The equipment list will include 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and driver's display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, powered sliding doors, and keyless entry.
