Ahead of its launch on May 28, Tata has revealed the Tiago EV facelift. Tata’s most affordable EV gets a refreshed look on the outside, with new lighting setups, revised styling for the bumpers and alloy wheels, along with feature additions. We take a look at all the changes that the Tiago EV facelift gets over its predecessor.

New fascia, lighting setups, and wheel designs onboard
While both the old and new models get a blanked-off grille, the former gets a gloss black panel, while there's a body coloured panel on the latter. The front-end of the facelift gets new LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, revised styling for the bumper, which features air vents on either side, and a restyled central air intake for a cleaner look. The side profile of the facelift largely remains the same as the outgoing version, but it gets black wheel arches and new wheel covers for the 14-inch steel rims. Also, the EV badging on the front door of the older model is replaced by 'tata.ev' branding on the new one.
Like the fascia, the rear-end of the Tiago EV facelift is heavily redone. This includes new LED tail-lamps, which are now connected by a red bar. Tiago EV badging has shifted to the bottom of the tailgate, while the restyled rear bumper gets a dual-tone finish. The reverse lamp has also moved to the centre of the rear bumper. New colour options are also expected with the facelift.

360-degree camera to be part of the equipment list; New digital instrument cluster expected
While Tata has not revealed the interior of the Tiago EV facelift, it could have a revised layout. The unveil video showed a redesigned instrument binnacle, possibly suggesting a new digital driver’s display, and new seat upholstery. While a free-standing infotainment screen was also spotted, it is likely to be unchanged from the current versions’ 10.25-inch unit. A key new feature addition will be a 360-degree camera, as the front bumper and ORVMs were spotted with camera nodules. Expect Tata to introduce six airbags as the current version offers only dual airbags.

Medium range and long range versions expected; Larger battery packs a possibility
The current version of the Tiago EV offers two versions, namely medium-range and long-range. Medium range variants are powered by a 19.2 kWh battery pack paired to a front-mounted motor producing 61hp and 110Nm. Long-range variants pair a 24kWh battery pack with a 75hp, 114Nm motor at the front. ARAI-claimed ranges for medium-range and long-range versions are 223km and 293km, respectively. Tata could likely introduce larger battery packs with increased claimed ranges for the Tiago facelift, as it did with the Punch EV facelift launched earlier this year.
Expect the Tiago EV facelift to be priced slightly higher than the current versions' Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.14 lakh price range. It will continue to take on the likes of the MG Comet.
