Mahindra launched the XUV700 in 2021, and the new 7XO marks the flagship ICE SUV’s mid-cycle update.

With the 2026 mid-cycle update to the XUV700, Mahindra has renamed its ICE flagship as the XUV 7XO, and the changes extend well beyond a new name. The first-generation executive SUV, which was launched in 2021, has now gained new features with the facelift, building on what was already one of the most tech-laden offerings in the segment; the turbo-petrol and diesel engine duo has been carried over. Below, we discuss eight features that the XUV700 facelift adds. Do note that availability will vary by variant.

Triple Screen setup

A triple-screen setup spanning the dashboard, something that we recently saw on the new XEV 9S EV, has been provided in the XUV 7XO as standard. It comprises a driver’s display, along with central and passenger-side touchscreens, each one measuring 12.3 inches. The new two-spoke steering wheel is also 9S-like, but it comes with physical controls instead of the haptic ones.

16-speaker Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos

In addition to the screens and steering unit, the 7XO borrows a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system from the electric SUV; the XUV700, for reference, offered a 12-speaker Sony setup. Also, Dolby Atmos has been added, which should elevate the overall cabin audio experience.

540-degree camera setup

The inclusion of a 540-degree camera, which offers a transparent bonnet view feature, stands out, as none of the XUV 7XO’s rivals – Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar – offer it. This system is capable of recording in real time as well.

Ventilation function, wireless charger and sunshades in second row

Mahindra has added a lot of convenience features when it comes to the second-row seats, something that the chauffeur-driven will appreciate. While they were previously reclinable, the outer seats now get ventilation. Window sunblinds are a practical addition, and a wireless charger with cooling is present as well. Bring your own device (BYOD) accessory holders with Type-C fast charging ports have also been provided at the back of the front two seats.

Powered co-driver’s seat and Boss mode

Making the front passenger seat electrically adjustable brings two advantages: greater adjustability and the option to offer a powered Boss mode. Due to this seat being only manually adjustable in the XUV700, just a manual Boss mode could be offered.
