I’m planning to buy an EV with a budget of Rs. 19 - 20 lakh. My heart says the Tata Sierra EV Pure 63, but my mind says the Kia Syros top variant because of features like ventilated seats. Kindly suggest which one would be the better choice.

The choice really comes down to your usage and what you value in the car. If you need more space for both passengers and luggage and have a few long drives that you would undertake, then opt for the Tata Sierra. This Tata car is much larger and has a very spacious interior. The ride quality is also very good over both bad city roads as well as high highway speeds. The Tata Sierra price is between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 21.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and you can choose from 24 different variants.

If, however, your usage is mainly going to be within the city, then the Kia Syros is the better buy. Its compact footprint will be much easier to manage while driving congested streets, and finding parking would be easier. You would also enjoy the top variant of the Kia car and its features.

@suresh.41 Go for Sierra because bigger battery and a better car from a higher segment

@suresh.41 Go for Sierra because 63kw , but go pure S, however your comparing two cars in different segments, sierra is SUV and syros is a modified hatchback, sierra is RWD, syros is FWD, also if highway runs are a part of your commute Sierra becomes a better choice

@suresh.41 Go for Sierra because more space proven motors and discounts in charging stations

Hello everyone, I am looking for a car for minimum 200km daily running on the highway, and my budget is 18L. Due to such requirements, I think an EV will be the only option for me. Can anyone suggest one? Also, is it true that the new Nexon EV may have a 400km range with a price of 18L?

Go for Sierra, simply because apart from features, its Indian.

Confused to buy between Sierra EV top AWD and Harrier EV Fearless AWD. Planning to travel all over India with family.

@nduraphe if you plan long runs , range will be crucial factor, the 75kw empower is a better choice, AWD is just another attractive feature, practically there is nothing different that an RWD cannot do on Roads. about choosing between sierra and harrier, its on your choice, i say EV version - sierra is better, ICE harrier is a better package

Confused between Sierra EV AWD top model or Harrier EV Fearless Plus AWD.

Hi Autocar team, I am planning to buy Mercedes and have shortlisted Mercedes-Benz GLC 220d & Mercedes-Benz GLE 450. I am in Bangalore and I commute daily to office for 20km a day along with weekend drives, long distance drive of around 15000 km per year. Now, between these two, which is better to choose? Will diesel car be good to have? Over the period of 5 to 7 years, will the government norms change for diesel vehicle? Also, should I buy the car now or consider waiting for the facelift of these 2 models next year or worth to wait till next? Please share a comprehensive report.

Go for the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450. With your 15,000km a year, a mix of city and highway, and a 5-7 year ownership plan, the GLE 450 is the better fit. The GLC 220d is a very good car, but the GLE 450 is a clear step up in space, comfort and overall luxury. It is a genuinely large SUV with a far more spacious rear seat and a more premium cabin experience, and a comfy ride quality, which makes a big difference on long drives and family trips. The 450 petrol engine is also smooth, powerful and well suited to your usage pattern. On the diesel question, at 15,000km a year a diesel can make sense, but the GLE 450 petrol is refined, efficient enough and future-proof. There is no immediate government plan to ban diesel cars, but policy direction can change over time, especially in cities like Bangalore. The GLE 450 petrol is the safer long-term ownership bet.On the facelift, both the GLC and GLE are expected to get updates in 2027 with the GLE likely to be revamped by the mid 2027. If you are not in a hurry, it is worth waiting. If you need the car now, do not overthink it – the GLE 450 will serve you well for years.
