I’m planning to buy an EV with a budget of Rs. 19 - 20 lakh. My heart says the Tata Sierra EV Pure 63, but my mind says the Kia Syros top variant because of features like ventilated seats. Kindly suggest which one would be the better choice.

The choice really comes down to your usage and what you value in the car. If you need more space for both passengers and luggage and have a few long drives that you would undertake, then opt for the Tata Sierra. It is a much larger car and has a very spacious interior. The ride quality is also very good over both bad city roads as well as high highway speeds. If, however, your usage is mainly going to be within the city, then the Kia Syros is the better buy. Its compact footprint will be much easier to manage while driving congested streets, and finding parking would be easier. You would also enjoy the top variant and its features.

Sir, I am planning to buy the top variant of either the Tata Sierra EV (Empowered A) or the Kia Syros EV (X-Line). I have bookings for both. The Sierra costs me Rs 24.79 lakh, which is about Rs 5 lakh more than the Kia. I do not mind paying more for the Sierra because it gives me a bigger car and more features. But the irritant is their insistence that I should pay an additional Rs 49,000 for the 7.2kW AC fast charger. And it has no BaaS option either. What is your considered advice?

The Tata Sierra EV is a genuinely impressive product with a spacious cabin, strong feature list and a premium feel. The Rs 49,000 charge for the 7.2kW AC charger on the Sierra EV is an irritant, but look at the bigger picture; you are getting a much larger, more powerful car than the Syros EV, with a bigger battery and healthier range too.Sure, the Syros EV is an excellent option and benefits from Kia's more predictable, fuss-free ownership experience. However, if you have your heart set on the Sierra EV and don't mind paying the Rs 5 lakh premium, we'd suggest you follow your heart.

I am buying my first car. While I do not have a fixed budget, I understand that every vehicle comes with certain trade-offs. My primary usage will be city commuting, along with occasional road trips every two months. I have never driven a German car before, and the last car I drove was a Tata Indica eV2. I am looking for a car that offers excellent comfort in Delhi-NCR weather conditions, including ventilated seats and an air-conditioning system that cools the cabin effectively. I would also like a car that provides an engaging driving experience so that I do not get bored of driving it over time. I plan to pass the car on to my father in the future if I no longer need it, so I am specifically looking for an automatic. Safety is, of course, a priority as well. I am currently confused between the Skoda Kylaq, Skoda Kushaq, Skoda Slavia, Kia Syros, Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Sierra, Toyota Hyryder, and a few other options in the market. Which one would be the most suitable choice for my requirements?

Pick the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 automatic. It suits Delhi city life the best while keeping you cool and fresh, and it still makes those every-two-month highway runs easy.In your traffic, the 1.0 with the automatic is smooth and stress free, has light steering, good visibility, and a suspension that takes broken roads well. On hot days, the AC now cools quickly, and the higher trims give you ventilated seats that actually help in NCR summers. It is also one of the safest in your list with a strong body and the full safety kit, so handing it to your father later will feel right. It is compact enough for tight parking, yet feels stable and confident at high speeds so its safe and you will not get bored or tired.A couple of the others come close. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid is super efficient and very easy in the city, but feels less lively on the highway.
