Online voting is underway for the Most Popular Driver of the Year award in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Narain Karthikeyan, the fastest Indian on track, is one of the top contenders.

Narain, who made history as the first Indian driver to compete in a NASCAR race, also bagged the top rookie of the race award in his first NASCAR outing, beating six other debutants.

After a strong start to the championship, he continued his good form and had his best finish of the season when he ended the Lone Star State race in 11th position out of 36. In the next round at Illinois, Narain took his best grid position of the season when he started the race from P9. However, due to a mishandling truck coupled with the tricky Chicagoland track, he lost track positions and finished the race in a decent 14th position.

Narain has impressed his team owners and others from the NASCAR fraternity with his strong performances in the debut season.

So for all you Narain Karthikeyan fans, here is an opportunity to extend your support to the NASCAR racer and also win a US trip to watch Narain race in Daytona in 2011. Narain’s team, Starbeast Motorsports, is giving one lucky winner a trip for two to the US to be a part of the racing experience. All you have to do is to log on to the Starbeast Motorsports Website and fill up your contact details. Then click on the link to the NASCAR site and vote!

Fans can vote once a day every day, from now until November 5. The more you vote, the more chances of your winning the trip!
