Petrolheads, mark your calendars. The 2022 edition of The Valley Run will be held at Aamby Valley City’s private airstrip on November 11, 12 and 13. This latest edition will celebrate 10 years of one of India’s most anticipated drag racing events, and so there’s plenty of action in store – both on and off the drag strip.

    • To be held at the Aamby Valley airstrip
    • Adventure sports, tuners’ meet and more planned

The weekend of November 11-13 will see the Aamby Valley airstrip converted into a quarter-mile (or 402m) dragstrip for both bikes and cars. For those interested in participating, online registrations will open on organiser Elite Octane’s website on October 1.

Given that it will be celebrating the drag racing event’s 10th anniversary, a number of additional activities are planned, including drifting and stunt shows, tuners’ meet and adventure sports. Watch this space for more updates!

The first-ever edition of the Valley Run was held in 2013 and had around 200 entries. Since then, the event has grown a dedicated fan base and the last edition – held in December 2021 – saw over 700 participants.

The fastest time last year was a record-breaking 9.502 seconds set with a modified Suzuki Hayabusa by Hemanth Muddappa. The fastest four-wheeler at the event was a Nissan G-TR (R35) owned by Biren Pithawalla that set a blisteringly quick time of 10.533 seconds.

For the first time ever, last year’s Valley Run also introduced a new class for EVs as well. The Mercedes-Benz EQC ended up piping the Audi e-tron for victory in that class by just 0.36 seconds.
