Sahara Force India Academy Driver, Jehan Daruvala, finished sixth at the Formula Renault Alpls series in Monza, participating as a guest driver.

Returning to the legendary track in which he made single-seater debut earlier this season, Jehan’s qualifying didn’t go as planned as he could manage no better than 16th place. That didn’t seem to deter the youngster though, as he scythed through the field, eventually finishing a credible sixth. The pace was impressive as well – Jehan lapping within two-tenths of the leader’s lap times during the course of the race.

The remaining two races were a disappointment for Daruvala as a brake bias cable failure prevented him from taking advantage of his sixth place on the starting grid. Battling issues and several competitors around him, he managed to cross in the line in eighth place.

The final race of the weekend didn't offer any opportunity for redemption. Having managed to avoid a first-lap accident that trigged a Safety Car period, Daruvala was involved in a four-car pile-up at the restart.

Daruvala’s next outing in his Alps campaign is on 18-19 July at the Misano Circuit in Italy.
