After a weekend of hard racing, the Idemitsu Honda Racing Team India comes home with a double points-finish, courtesy of their Japanese rider Taiga Hada. The 19-year old finished in 12th and 11th place in his two races in the Supersport 600 class. The Indian duo of Anish Shetty and Rajiv Sethu finished their races in the top 25 in the Asia Production 250 class.
Shetty, still in his rookie year in the class, gained five positions from his 30th-place grid slot, to finish 25th in both races. Meanwhile, Sethu had to work even harder, climbing seven positions with his still-healing wrist to finish 24th in both races.
“It's less than a month since my wrist surgery and getting my momentum on track back is top priority. I entered the race on a very positive note after the morning warm-up. Moving ahead, I want to score in the next Chennai round. From now to August, will be time for intensive training,” Sethu said.
The racer now has eight weeks – a considerable time to recover – before the team heads home for the 4th round of the championship at MMRT, Chennai. The riders will be hoping for a strong result in front of their local fans.
