Ahead of its F1 entry next year as a full works team, Audi has announced financial technology company Revolut as its title partner.

The current Sauber team will transform into Audi’s works entry next year, which is also when the new F1 rules come into effect. Some sweeping changes are in store, including new power units (where 50 percent of the power will be generated from the internal combustion engine and the rest from the battery), active aerodynamics, 100 percent sustainable fuel, and more.

Revolut to be integrated into Audi F1 team’s financial operations

Audi’s deal with Revolut goes beyond just a traditional title sponsorship. The company has said that Revolut will be integrated into the F1 team’s financial operations and will also power checkout solutions for team merchandise.

“From 2026, Revolut’s digital-first solutions will power key areas of our operations while also redefining how fans and communities engage with our team – delivering a seamless and engaging experience on and off the track,” said Audi F1 team principal Jonathan Wheatley.

In line with this, both Audi and Revolut are also exploring “new ways for fans to interact with the sport”, with unique experiences and exclusive benefits for Revolut customers.

The Audi F1 team will operate under a dual leadership structure – former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto is in charge of the factory and overall development, while former Red Bull sporting director Wheatley leads race operations. As the transformation of Sauber into Audi ramps up, the team recently announced the opening of a new technology centre in the UK. This facility is based in an area known as ‘Motorsport Valley’, since seven of the current 10 F1 teams are based there.

Audi’s F1 project will continue to be headquartered in Hinwil, Switzerland, while the new power unit is being developed in Germany. Binotto explained that the UK facility will give Audi the chance to tap into the talent pool in Motorsport Valley and further strengthen the team’s technical capabilities.
