Maruti Suzuki flagged off the 7th edition of its annual southern motorsport rally Dakshin Dare 2015 from Bengaluru. This year, the rally boasts 105 teams comprising 170 participants on a journey of 2,000km, to be covered in a span of six days.

This year the route is new. Participants will make their way across Karnataka’s most scenic, yet challenging terrains of Davangere, Shimoga, Hampi, Gulbarga, Chitradurga and Bellary. For the first time, the rally will culminate in Hyderabad on August 8.

Flagging off the rally, Tarun Garg, Sr. Vice President, National Sales & Network, Maruti Suzuki said, “Pioneered in 2009, Dakshin Dare is our effort to provide the thrill of off-road rallying experience to motorsport enthusiasts in south India. At Maruti Suzuki, we believe that rallies bring out the best in men and machines, and the increasing participation each year is encouraging and helps us strengthen such motorsport events.”

The Dakshin Dare is divided into three categories — Endurance, Ultimate Car and Ultimate Bike — traversing a total distance of 2,000 kilometres over tarmac and gravel.
