Fiat Group Automobiles India is looking to enhance its presence in the domestic market and has announced the strategy it will follow here to reach its target of a one percent market share by the end of the financial year.

The company, which has 51 exclusive sales outlets currently, is in the process of setting up 16 more dealerships right now. The manufacturer said that it plans to more than double its dealer network by the end of the financial year.

The manufacturer inaugurated its fifth exclusive sales outlet in Noida in January, 2013. The newest dealership, Kashyap Fiat, is spread across an area of 4,000 sq ft and also has a service outlet on the same premises.

The company is also going to introduce services like mobile service cars and 24/7 roadside assistance. It also announced the introduction of 3 year/1,00,000km warranty and 2 year/1,50,000km extended warranty on the Punto and Linea.

Speaking about all the initiatives, Nagesh Basavanhalli, president and managing director, Fiat Chrysler India Operations, said, "The Fiat Group views India as a strategic market and we are confident of replicating the Groups' global standards in the sales, marketing, distribution and after-sales departments here. We have undertaken a series of initiatives in order to provide a very high level of service to all of our business partners and to further engage with our customers. The current organisational structure provides us with a solid platform to elevate the Fiat Group as one of the prominent players in the Indian automobile market."

The company is currently focused on Tier I cities for its new dealership network, with all joint dealerships with Tata winding up operations and switching to either brand.
