We have accumulated sales numbers for the top six 2-wheeler manufacturers in India. Here’s how they fare.
Hero: 4,88,997 units
After a rather slow April 2025, Hero Motocorp is back at its regular number one position. It recorded a sizable 69 percent growth compared to the previous month. However, its year-on-year (YoY) growth stood at a marginal 1.99 percent. Hero’s electric subsidiary, VIDA, is slated to launch a new, more affordable Vida VX2 on July 1.
Honda: 4,17,256 units
Honda is back in its second position, having recorded a negative 1.34 percent change compared to the previous month. YoY sales also stand at a negative 7 percent.
Recently, Honda expanded its BigWing product portfolio with a slew of launches like the Honda Rebel 500, X-ADV, CB750 Hornet, CB1000 Hornet and Goldwing 50th Anniversary Edition. Additionally, Honda has also made the E-Clutch variants of the CB650R and CBR650R available in India. Moreover, Honda announced the expansion of its production capacity by adding a new production line at its Vithalapur plant in India.
TVS: 3,09,287 units
TVS generally slots below Hero and Honda in the sales race, and May 2025 has been no different. With over 3.09 lakh units despatched, this Chennai-based manufacturer has reported a 4.44 percent dip in sales compared to the previous month. However, YoY growth stood at 14.07 percent.
We were also the first to report that TVS plans to launch a 150cc NTorq. Additionally, the brand launched a new variant of the Jupiter 125. It bears mentioning that these numbers don’t include those of the iQube, which is currently one of the bestselling electric 2-wheelers in India.
Bajaj: 1,91,412 units
Bajaj despatched over 1.91 lakh units in May 2025, recording a marginal growth of 1.48 percent compared to the previous month. Its YoY growth also stood at an equally marginal 1.63 percent. It is worth noting that these numbers include the Chetak series, which is currently one of the bestselling electric scooters in India.
Recently, we reported that Bajaj is working on a more affordable Chetak, which could serve as an upgrade over the 2903.
Suzuki: 1,07,780 units
Suzuki has crossed the 1-lakh mark in despatches for the month of May 2025. It recorded a growth of over 13 percent compared to the previous month and a YoY growth of 17 percent.
Last month, the brand rolled out an OBD2B-compliant variant of its Avenis. Additionally, the brand introduced a new top-spec variant for the Access with a TFT dash.
Royal Enfield: 75,820 units
With over 75,000 units despatched, Royal Enfield has reported a slight month-on-month dip of 0.24 percent. However, its YoY growth stood at a substantial 19.34 percent.
