What is so special about Maserati cars?
Maserati cars combine Italian design, performance-focused engineering, and premium interiors, with each model offering its own character.
- Distinctive Italian design: Maserati cars feature sculpted styling, the signature Trident badge and premium interiors with leather and high-quality finishes.
- Performance-focused driving: Models such as the Grecale Trofeo, GranTurismo Trofeo and MCPura use twin-turbo V6 engines, while their chassis and suspension are tuned for engaging handling.
- Exclusive ownership: Maserati offers extensive personalisation through its Fuoriserie programme, allowing buyers to customise exterior colours, interior trims and materials.
- Electric performance: The Folgore range brings Maserati’s performance focus to EVs, with models such as the Grecale Folgore using a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
Maserati SUVs in India
Maserati offers two SUVs in India, one petrol and one electric, built on the same platform and sharing the Grecale name.
Maserati Grecale
- Maserati’s most affordable SUV in India and its second SUV after the Levante.
- It is offered in GT, Modena and Trofeo variants, all with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
- The GT and Modena get a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine producing 300hp and 330hp, respectively, while the Trofeo gets a 530hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6.
- The cabin features extensive leather, a digital clock that can display a compass or G-meter, and three screens for the instrument cluster, infotainment and climate control.
- It has a 535-litre boot, although rear headroom is limited.
- The Grecale is priced at Rs 1.31 crore-2.00 crore (ex-showroom), with a claimed mileage of 8.8-10.9kpl.
As per our reviews, the Grecale is fun to drive, with handling that rivals the Porsche Macan, while its ground clearance makes it well suited to tackling speed breakers; however, some desirable features such as the panoramic sunroof, head-up display and 360-degree camera are optional.
Maserati Grecale Folgore
- Maserati’s first all-electric SUV and the only EV in its India line-up.
- It gets a 105kWh battery (97kWh net) and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive, producing 550hp and 820Nm.
- Maserati claims a 0-100kph time of 4.1sec and a top speed of 220kph.
- The claimed range is 501km, with support for 22kW AC and 150kW DC fast charging.
- Design changes over the petrol Grecale are limited to bronze brake calipers, Folgore badging and new alloy wheels.
- It is available in a single variant priced at Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom, before options) and rivals the Porsche Macan EV.
Maserati Coupes in India
Maserati's coupes are petrol-only and cover the two ends of its performance range: a comfortable grand tourer and a driver-focused mid-engined car.
Maserati GranTurismo
- The GranTurismo is the entry point into Maserati’s sports car range.
- The Modena gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 490hp, while the Trofeo makes 550hp and 650Nm from the same engine.
- Both variants use an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
- The front seats are comfortable, while the rear seats can accommodate adults for short journeys.
- It is priced at Rs 2.54 crore-3.00 crore (ex-showroom), with a claimed mileage of 9.6-9.8kpl.
- It rivals the Porsche 911 GTS and Mercedes-AMG GT.
In our reviews, the GranTurismo Trofeo impresses with its strong V6 performance and sound, while its air suspension offers a surprisingly comfortable ride; however, cabin quality and touchscreen responsiveness fall short at this price.
Maserati MCPura
- The MCPura is Maserati’s mid-engined sports car and the most expensive model in its India range.
- It is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 630hp and 720Nm, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive.
- Its carbon-fibre monocoque helps keep the coupe’s weight down to 1,475kg, while butterfly doors add to its dramatic design.
- It is available as a hardtop Coupe and the Cielo convertible.
- The MCPura is priced at Rs 4.12 crore for the Coupe and Rs 5.12 crore for the Cielo (ex-showroom), with claimed mileage of 8.6-8.7kpl.
As per our reviews, the MCPura offers sharp handling and a comfortable GT-mode ride, but its laggy touchscreen, limited storage and poor ground clearance are drawbacks.
Note: The GT2 is a non-road-homologated race car, while the road-legal GT2 Stradale is a separate model based on the GT2 race car. Maserati does not list an India price for these models, so they have not been included in our page.
