As before, the Verna continues to offer 115hp, 144Nm 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 160hp, 253Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard with both engines. The NA motor can also be optioned with a CVT unit, while the more powerful turbocharged engine offers the choice of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Both engines in the Hyundai Verna come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The naturally aspirated petrol engine also gets a CVT automatic, while the turbo-petrol engine can be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Key features of the Hyundai Verna include projector LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and driver’s display, ventilated and heated front seats, a Bose sound system, a single-pane sunroof and a Boss mode function for the front passenger seat.

The Hyundai Verna received a facelift March 2026, but apart from a few minor cosmetic tweaks and feature additions, there are no major changes.

It is ideal for someone looking for a premium sedan with refined petrol engine options and a premium cabin experience.

In our tests, Verna has been surprisingly frugal - hovering around 9.5-10kpl, and even crossing 11kpl on late-night drives. The average is a respectable 10kpl, mostly in Eco mode.
