Volvo’s Drive Me project, announced in December, has recently begun in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company has confirmed.

Under the Drive Me project, about 100 autonomous prototypes will be driven for approximately 50km as a part of the test. The cars will be driven through roadways complete with everyday situations that will include commuter arteries to motorways that are subject to queues.

There are other carmakers investing time and effort in creating their own autonomous driving systems, however, Volvo has said that its project Drive Me is noteworthy as it brings transport authorities, customers, legislators, all of them, to the table.
