Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recalled around 8,700 units of its Corolla Altis and Camry models. The recall is to inspect the power window master switch (PWMS) in these vehicles. The recall campaign will be conducted from November onwards across all authorised Toyota dealers in India. The move is part of a global exercise by Toyota.

According to Toyota, the PWMS in the specified year models (Corolla: July 30, 2008 to December 31, 2008; Camry: September 1, 2006 to July 31, 2008) may begin to feel notchy or become inoperative. This can be due to wear and tear over time of specific contact points in the PWMS. Owners of the involved vehicles covered under this recall campaign will receive a notification by letter or by phone from Toyota.
