Toyota has released a teaser for the all-new Camry which is expected to make its debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show next month. The teaser, which shows little more than the car’s rear quarter styling, is likely for a sportier iteration of Toyota’s premium sedan.

The car teased is most probably the model bound for North America, though the model for Asian markets is likely to feature similar styling cues. The teaser hints at a more flowing design with prominent lines along the flank, slim LED tail-lamps sitting atop a faux air vent on the rear bumper and a boot lip spoiler.

Spy pictures of the model being tested internationally have given some insight into its styling with noticeable cues on the test mule like the low shoulder line, larger windows and door-mounted mirrors.

The new Camry will be underpinned by Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform that debut with the all-new Prius.

Under the hood, the new Camry is likely to offer updated iterations of its existing engines. Although, as per reports, it could borrow a 2.0-litre turbo unit from its more upmarket sibling, the Lexus IS sedan. Toyota is also expected to develop a hotter iteration of the next-gen model tuned by the automaker’s TRD division. As with the current generation, a hybrid version will be offered on the new car.
