SsangYong has unveiled a longer, more spacious version of the standard Tivoli crossover – the Tivoli XLV – at the Geneva Motor Show. The crossover is based on the XLV Air concept that was first revealed at least year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. It is powered by the same 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines as the standard Tivoli, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. SsangYong is also offering the model with an option of two and four-wheel drive forms.
The production model keeps the same 2,600mm wheelbase as the standard Tivoli, however, it is 235mm longer from the C-pillar back. As a result, it provides more storage space and room inside. The total carrying capacity of the Tivoli XLV has now increased to 720 litre with its rear seats in place.
According to SsangYong, Tivoli XLV “provides the versatility needed to meet a wide range of individual lifestyles”. With the introduction of this new variant, the company anticipates that over 1,00,000 units of the crossover will be sold in 2016. The SsangYong car is set to go on sale across international markets from May this year.
