With Renault having given the Duster a facelift, it now seems to be Nissan’s turn to follow suit. A Terrano makeover is likely to hit showrooms soon.

The Terrano will likely get cosmetic changes mostly to its front fascia nin the form of a revised grille and bumpers. The cabin updates could see the introduction of a touchscreen infotainment system, along with a revision of the SUV’s feature list.

Mechanically, the facelift could see the introduction of an AMT gearbox as was seen with the Duster. The gearbox is expected to be the same six-speed Easy-R unit as the Duster with both cars sharing common underpinnings and mechanicals.

As with the Duster, the AMT gearbox and an all-wheel drive option will be provided on the 1.5-litre diesel engine in its more powerful 110hp state of tune and not on the petrol engine and the detuned 85hp 1.5-litre diesel unit.

The facelift should breathe life into the Terrano and allow Nissan to better compete in the segment which has recently seen the introductions like the segment-leading Hyundai Creta and the Maruti S-Cross.
