As reported by us earlier, Mahindra has launched a new variant of the SsangYong Rexton called the RX6. This variant will slot in between the base RX5 and the top RX7 models and is priced at Rs 19.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The SsangYong Rexton RX6 gets all the features of the top-of-the-line RX7 variant and comes with a five-speed manual transmission. Kit on the new variant includes premium leather upholstery, electrical sunroof, eight-way adjustable driver's seat, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, on demand all-wheel drive, an infotainment system with navigation, ABS and hill descent control, among others.
Speaking at the launch, Vivek Nayer, chief marketing officer, automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “As a customer-centric organisation, we continuously take feedback from consumers and update our products to cater to their evolving needs. One such feedback from customers was the need for high-end and luxurious features in a manual transmission model. The launch of the Rexton RX6 is a step in this direction and will give driving enthusiasts a manual transmission with 4x4 capabilities, along with high-end features.
Under the hood, the SsangYong Rexton RX6 comes equipped with the same Mercedes-sourced, 162bhp 2.7-litre turbo diesel motor as the other variants.
The SsangYong Rexton is manufactured in India at Mahindra's Chakan plant near Pune.
