The Renault Kwid, with its SUV-like looks and aggressive pricing, has garnered a positive response in India. The hatchback has received 50,000 bookings since its launch on September 24, and now customers across the country might have to wait for a period of three to eight months for the car’s delivery.

According to Renault dealers, there is a waiting period of six to eight months for the Kwid in Delhi and nearby regions. It will be three to four months before customers in Bengaluru and Kolkata get their hands on the Kwid, although dealers in Bengaluru reportedly have the base Standard, RXE and RXE(O) variants ready for next-day delivery. The Standard trim is priced at Rs 2.57 lakh. The RXE, RXE(O) and RXL trims cost Rs 2.89 lakh, Rs 2.95 lakh and Rs 3.12 lakh respectively. The RXT trim which features a first-in-class touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, retails at Rs 3.44 lakh, whereas the RXT(O) trim, equipped with a driver-side airbag is priced at Rs 3.53 lakh (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Renault Kwid takes on the Hyundai Eon and the Maruti Alto 800 in the entry-level hatchback segment.
