The spruced-up version of the Redigo seems to be a hit with the buyers. Nissan India announced that it is producing an additional 800 units of the Redigo Sport since the initial 1,000 units of the limited-run hatch have been sold out within a month.
The high demand for the special edition variant of the Redigo does indicate that despite it being the entry-level segment, buyers are keen to have their cars stand out and are willing to pay a premium. Deliveries for the new cars are set to commence from November.
Launched at a priced at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Redigo Sport is a special edition variant of the standard Redigo and comes with cosmetic changes such as blacked out components with contrast inserts and body graphics to give it a sportier look.
The car also gets an all-black interior with contrast stitching and inserts along with the addition of equipment like Bluetooth connectivity, remote locking and rear parking sensors.
Since its launch, Nissan has sold 13,244 units of the Redigo in the country. Going ahead, the company plans to continuously update and refresh the Redigo range in India, Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India said.
