Nissan Sunny facelift gets exterior and interior changes. Launched at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The facelifted Nissan Sunny has been launched at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the petrol variant and Rs 7.99 lakh for the diesel version. The top of the line XV D diesel version is priced at Rs 9.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There are two optional paid premium packs to choose from too - Premium leather or premium safety on the top XV D variant.
On the nose, the facelift includes new Teana-inspired headlights that go deeper into the bumper and more prominent Nissan grille. The chin of the car has been tidied up as well, with chrome accents around the fog lamps. The rear of the car has been updated and includes a black ‘splitter’ that helps break the visual bulk of that large 490-litre boot. The Sunny facelift gets new tail-lights and alloys as well.
There are even more changes on the inside. Most importantly, the multiple shades of grey interior have been replaced by a look that comes across as a lot more upmarket. There’s a new leather-wrapped steering, chrome-lined dials, piano black centre console and silver accents lift the ambience if the cabin considerably. The higher XV premium 1 and premium 2 trims get leather seats and leather-covered gear knobs, and a new two-DIN audio system also provides Bluetooth and a display screen for the reversing camera. Also really nice are the steering-mounted audio controls that are finished in chrome and further enhance the premium feel of the cabin.
Mechanically, the Sunny remains unchanged and the 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 98bhp and can be bought with a CVT automatic too. The 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 84 bhp but there’s no option of an automatic with the diesel motor.
