Hyundai has started testing the all-new Verna in India ahead of a market launch expected in August this year. Spied by one of our readers, Khushal Abrol, the next-gen Verna will follow a more mature design inside and out. The all-new Verna has been unveiled internationally for markets like Russia where it is known as the Hyundai Solaris.

The next-gen Verna for India is likely to get a styling similar to the Solaris, based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2 theme. The next-gen car is also expected to grow in size as compared to the current model which could mean a more spacious cabin.

On the inside, the new Verna will likely have a layout similar to that of the Solaris, including the more upright dashboard and the large centrally located touchscreen atop the centre console. Like the current model, the new Verna could offer equipment such as auto climate control and smartphone connectivity options for the infotainment system. It could also feature diamond cut alloy wheels and LED headlamps as well to better compete with the Honda City and Volkswagen Vento.

Under the hood, the next-gen model could continue with the existing set of 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. As per sources, Hyundai is expected to give the car its version of mild hybrid technology. The test mule featured disc brakes all around so we could expect the same set-up on the production model.
