New Jaguar XJ50 launched at Rs 1.11 crore

    The special edition XJ marks the 50 years of Jaguar’s flagship luxury sedan.

    Jaguar Land Rover has launched a special edition of its XJ. Named the XJ50 and priced at Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom India), model has been launched to celebrate five decades of the XJ being on sale globally. Bookings for the special edition car are now open in India.

    The XJ50 gets aesthetic updates over the standard model, which includes Autobiography-style front and rear bumpers. Along with the bumpers, there’s new 19-inch wheels, a chrome radiator grille with chrome surround and unique badging on the rear and side vents. Colour options include Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Red.

    The insides have been updated as well, with the cabin now getting diamond-quilted seats and an XJ50 logo on the centre armrest. Also differentiating the special edition car is the XJ50-badged illuminated treadplates, anodized gearshift paddles and bright metal pedals.

    Available in the long-wheelbase guise, the XJ50 is powered by a 306hp, 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. The range-topping Jaguar sedan rivals the Mercedes S-class and BMW 7-series in our market.
