In less than 10 years, Mahindra’s Haridwar (Uttarakhand) factory has crossed the production figure of 7 lakh. The plant crossed the 6-lakh mark in November 2014 and it has taken Mahindra just 10 months since then to reach the 7-lakh mark.

Inaugurated in December 2005, the Haridwar plant currently manufactures the Bolero, Scorpio S2, Gio (passenger and commercial), Alfa (passenger and commercial) and Champion range of products. For the past two years, the plant has earned the distinction of having one of the highest production capacities amongst other automotive plants of Mahindra. It is the company’s sole automotive plant in North India.

Speaking on the milestone, Pravin Shah, president and chief executive (Automotive), M&M said, “This remarkable achievement is a significant moment for us in our automotive journey and bears testimony to the relentless effort put in by each member of our Haridwar plant. The plant has constantly achieved manufacturing excellence and reflects the commitment and spirit of accepting no limits in keeping with our Rise philosophy. I am sure that this milestone will be a stepping stone to many more accolades for our Haridwar plant in times to come.”
