SUV-maker Land Rover has announced new prices for its entire line-up of SUVs in India, post the implementation of GST. All variants of the locally produced Discovery Sport and Evoque get cheaper with price cuts up to Rs 4.28 lakh and Rs 4.43 lakh, respectively.

Under the new GST structure, SUVs saw a drop of 12 percent in the taxation rate. Imported vehicles like the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models will continue to attract Basic Customs Duty (BCD), in addition to GST, while Countervailing Duty (CVD) and Special Additional Duty (SAD) has been subsumed into GST.

In May 2017, the British manufacturer had announced discounts in the range of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10.9 lakh on some of its models in an attempt to maintain sales momentum before GST came into effect.
