The radical concept has already made a lot of headlines, thanks to its controversial design, and is a preview of Jaguar’s new line-up of EVs. Jaguar Type 00 concept: what is it?

Previews not just a model but a whole new identity for Jaguar

The Type 00 doesn’t just preview a specific model, but it is a vision of what the new Jaguar brand and its products would look like. The two zeros signify zero emissions and a complete reset, implying an all-new direction for the brand in the electrification age.

Jaguar has already started testing prototypes of a 4-door electric GT in the UK, which will be the first model in this new range of EVs. Images of the camouflaged prototypes show an elongated bonnet with a rear-set cabin and a swooping coupe-like roofline with a small, flat-deck boot lid. It also sports a very upright nose, has large tyres and is very long.

The production car will debut a new underpinning called Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). So far, not much has been revealed about it other than a targeted range of 770km on the WLTP cycle and the ability to top-up up to 321km driving range in 15 minutes.
