Hyundai Motor India has announced a change in top-level management with Y.K. Koo set to be appointed as the Managing Director from November 8, 2015.
The current Managing Director, B.S. Seo, will return to the carmaker’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea after having served for over five years in India. Koo has served earlier in other capacities in India, and is now back for his third stint.
As part of the restructuring, the carmaker also announced that B.S. Jeong will take on the designation of Executive Director – Sales & Marketing, relieving Y. J. Ahn, who will lead the Corporate Affairs team of the company's India operations. The current head of the Corporate Affairs, Y.K. Lee, is set to return to Korea, the company said in a statement. The above changes are also effective from November 8, 2015.
The Korean carmaker has just recorded its highest-ever domestic sales in the country at 47,015 units in October 2015, up nearly 24 percent from the corresponding period last year, on the back of upbeat response to its Creta SUV, the i20 premium hatchback as well as the Grand i10.
